Super awesome and fun place. Takes an hour to an hour and a half to enjoy. Just walked in paid for the tickets and did the illusions and activities.

I’ve visited the Museum of Illusions DC before, so I already knew it was a lot of fun, but after bringing my niece and nephew, I realized there aren’t nearly enough reviews talking about how amazing it is for kids.

I think a lot of people assume it’s more of an adult attraction for taking fun photos, but my niece and nephew absolutely loved it. I honestly thought we’d be there for maybe an hour. Instead, they spent nearly two and a half hours running back and forth between exhibits and still didn’t want to leave.

Their favorite was the exhibit where it looks like your head is being served on a platter. They thought it was the funniest thing ever and kept making each other pose for photos over and over again. They also loved the rooms that make people appear to switch sizes and the mirror exhibits that create multiple reflections and optical illusions.

The biggest hit by far was what they called the “alien tunnel”—the spinning tunnel that makes you feel like you’re losing your balance. As someone who gets vertigo, I could barely make it through once without feeling dizzy. The kids, on the other hand, thought it was the greatest thing ever and must have run through it 20 or 30 times laughing hysterically every single time.

The only reason we left was because it was a school night. Otherwise, I honestly think they would have stayed even longer.

If you’re looking for a fun indoor activity for kids, especially during those brutally hot DC summer days, I highly recommend the Museum of Illusions. It’s interactive, engaging, air-conditioned, and kept two energetic kids entertained for over two hours. That’s a win in my book.

I had an amazing time at the Museum of Illusions in DC today! The exhibits are incredibly cool and perfectly set up for capturing mind-bending photos, though it’s definitely best to go with a partner so you can take pictures of each other. However, even as a solo visitor, my experience was absolutely fantastic thanks to Deidre, a staff member who went completely above and beyond. She was incredibly helpful, taking awesome photos for me and sharing the best tips and angles to make sure every shot turned out perfect. I highly recommend checking this place out for a fun, interactive, and highly memorable experience!
